Level 80 Rogue specs
For PvP and PvE, Assassination, Combat, and Subtlety. All currently viable specs.
These are the specs currently viable to the Rogue class as of 3.0.8. Small variations could be made to suit personal preference, but overall they are they are most likely to give you success:
PvP:
-Weapons: Slower MHs are better in PvP, simply because of burst. As mutilate, you'll want two slow daggers if possible. As combat and Sub, faster OHs are better for poison procs.
-Poisons: Wound MH, Crippling OH, or Mind Numbing OH if you are Mutilate.
-Glyphs: I use Preparation for Dismantle, Vigor for the burst, and Eviscerate for burst. Other options are Sprint, SS(if you are combat).
Assassination:
41/5/25 Mut/Prep
This spec is built around heavy burst with high mobility. One point in camo for restealthing after blinds. I didn't pick up blood splatter because matches sadly don't typically last long enough to use rupture. This is the most common PvP build, and that is due to the huge burst with good mobility.
51/5/15 HfB Mutilate
This spec is much less arena viable, simply due to lessened mobility and one less vanish. However, it will put out more damage, more burst. Maybe you want a PvE/PvP hybrid -- this would be the spec.
Combat:
10/53/8 Murder Spree
At this time, arenas move far too quickly for combat to be as effective as Mutilate or Shadow dance. Even with Murder Spree, it truly lacks the burst required. I only included this spec as one for someone who is dead set on speccing combat for PvP.
0/41/30 SA/Prep/Hemo
Here's another possibility for Combat PvP. It provides higher mobility and utility, at the cost of DPS and burst.
Subtlety:
12/8/51 Shadow Dance Backstab
Alteration: You could give up Imp Gouge for HaT. HaT is really good for backstab, because it is affected by your own crits, like Seal Fate. That's not quite as huge as you may think, but definitely good.
This is my favorite spec for PvP. The burst from Ambush is excellent, but unfortunately can only be used once per match due to the 2 minute CD on SD. The mobility and utility is great. I took imp gouge, because I gouge rather often to alleviate damage intake. Lethality is trash because it doesn't affect Ambush.
16/0/55 Shadow Dance Hemo/Ambush
With this build, you'll use Ambush during SD for burst, and hemo otherwise.
25/5/41 CB/FF/QR+ShS
This is an interesting evolution of the winning level 70 spec. QR, FF, and CB are all excellent abilities. QR gives a great healing bonus for a heal demanding season. FF is great for mobility, and CB for burst. This spec is less bursty than other alternatives, but if you're playing a resilient comp, then you'll find yourself able to both gib and outlast.
PvE:
Assassination:
51/13/7 PvE HfB Mutilate
-Weapons: Two fast daggers. The faster of the two in your main hand.
-Poisons: Instant MH, Deadly OH.
-Glyphs: Rupture and SnD if needed to maintain 100% uptime
Murder is useless for Naxx, due to the fact that everything in there is undead. Switch it out for QR or FF.
Combat:
15/51/5 Combat
-Weapons: A slow main hand with a fast off hand.
-Poisons: Wound MH, Deadly OH.
-Glyphs: SS, Rupturem and SnD
Just as in PvP, Combat is the weakest tree for PvE. Mutilate and SHaT will both provide higher dps, all other things being equal.

-Weapons: Two fast daggers. The faster of the two in your main hand.
-Poisons: Wound MH, Deadly OH.
-Glyphs: Rupture and SnD
SHaT, or Solo Honor Among Thieves, is a spec built around utilizing the talent. It's most effective with multiple hunters in your party, because every pet crit gives a combo point as well. The spec got less effective when it stopped working with multiple rogues, but it is still the highest DPS spec when used with the proper group. The DPS talents chosen are optimized for the highest DPS possible with the proper rotation.
These are just the specs. I gave you the HaT spec, but you might be confused as to why you have hemo and use daggers. If you want information on how to play one to maximize PvE DPS, click here.

About BC mutilate speccs, wouldnt it be better to put the remaining points in sub instead? Considering combat = 50% OH damage, meaning around 25% increased damage on mut, while sub would give 5% less, still giving a much better chance of finding another rogue, druid, and imp sap, /love that. And, just to top it off, initiative.

i love to play BG, and since im still lvl 60ish, i havent tryed arena yet
also i got some questions, since SD alows you to use stealth skills unstealthed, doenst that make master of subtlety pointless? wut bout waylay? good perma "cripp poison like" effect?
